A master’s thesis in the College of Islamic Sciences looking for the effect of the Qur’an on the poetry of Abd al-Saheb al-Barqawi

In the College of Islamic Sciences – University of Karbala, a master’s thesis titled the Qur’anic influence on the poetry of Abd al-Saheb al-Barqawi was discussed by student Israa Mahdi Kazem
The discussion started at exactly nine o’clock in the morning on Sunday 12/20/2020 at the Sadiq Secretary Hall in the college.

The study dealt with one of the poets of the Najaf environment in a period of time marked by conflicts and international wars and the hustle and bustle against the Arab nation, and this writer is Abdul-Saheb Al-Barqawi, who was born from the womb of suffering and he is one of the poets who did not shed light on their art and intellectual productions. Perhaps the reason for this is the revolutionary characteristic of the poet. High and negative attitude towards the ruling authorities at the time. Therefore, he was chosen as a subject for this study to shed light on his results and to raise a small part of what the poet incurred in terms of misleading and to show the extent of the poet’s influence with the Qur’an texts because he is a cleric as well as being from a religious environment.

The discussion committee consisted of Professor Dr. Hussein Lafta from the University of Kufa – the Center for Studies of Kufa as Chair, Professor Dr. Ali Hashem Students from the University of Muthanna – College of Education for Human Sciences as a Member, Assistant Professor Dr. Bushra Hanoun from the University of Karbala – College of Islamic Sciences as a Member and Assistant Professor Dr. Hazem Fadel from the University Karbala – College of Islamic Sciences as a member and supervisor. The scientific committee took all the efforts made by the student and awarded him a master’s degree in the language and literature of the Qur’an.
