The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Islamic Sciences organizes a celebration on the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language

The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala organized a celebration on the occasion of the Dhad Day, which falls on December 18 of each year.
The ceremony, which was held at Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) hall at ten o’clock on Wednesday, aims to support and enhance the existence of the Arabic language and highlight its importance, depth and enrichment of global culture, and its role in the cultural and linguistic construction of nations, thus contributing to enhancing human rapprochement between peoples.

The celebration included a number of various activities and events, which began with the recitation of verses from the Noble Qur’an to the reader Hussein Al-Haidari, followed by the speech of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Dhurgham Al-Mousawi, in which he shed light on the richness of the Arabic language and its ability to express various intellectual patterns. Poems on this occasion by Prof. Dr. Amjad Al-Fadhel and Assistant Professor Dr. Mashkour Al-Talaqani The poems sang with love for the Arabic language and to show the glory of Arabic

And her genius, and then came the speech of the Department of Arabic Language, delivered by the teaching staff in the Department of Arabic Language, Professor Dr. Wafaa Abbas, in which she presented a scientific article concerning the language of Dhad. On his part, the Head of the Department of Arabic Language, Assistant Professor Dr. Safaa Hussein Latif, mentioned that interest in Arabic language and culture is a necessity for many reasons. The root of our personality and the basis for our identity, and it is our expression of our joys and sorrows, as well as our history and our way to excellence, confirming that it has characteristics that distinguish it from other languages.

The celebration also included artistic performances from the creations of the teacher in the Arabic Language Department, Dr. Mashkor Al-Talqani, and the ceremony concluded with theatrical performances by a number of students of the Arabic Language Department, believing in and respecting the greatness of this language, and its steadfastness in the face of many external and internal challenges.
