The College of Islamic Sciences at Karbala University held a training course entitled “How to Publish in Scientific Journals within Scopus and Clarivate Containers”, during the period from 24 to 31 October 2023.
The course targeted postgraduate students and researchers in the College of Islamic Sciences and those interested in scientific publishing. The course was lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Hadi Abdul Amir, Assistant Professor Dr. Thaer Mehdi Madloul, and Lecturer Dr. Sajida Faleh Hassan, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Jadhili.
The course aimed to develop the capabilities and skills of the participants in preparing a research paper for publication, choosing the appropriate journal within the specialization, determining the quarter of the journal, the acceptance rate, and how to deal with the publication requirements for researchers.
The course included several axes, including:
- How to prepare a research paper for publication in reputable journals.
- How to deal with the publication requirements for researchers. The course resulted in positive outcomes, as the participants were able to learn the steps of preparing a research paper for publication in reputable scientific journals. The course came out with a number of recommendations, including:
- The necessity of paying attention to scientific publishing, as it has great importance in enriching knowledge and developing scientific research.
- The necessity of reviewing the research before publishing it, to ensure that it conforms to the scientific standards.
- The necessity of adhering to the ethics of scientific publishing. The participants in the course praised the level of content and organization, and expressed their gratitude to the college for organizing this valuable course.
