The Arabic Language Department at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, conducted an oral exam for third-year students using a new approach aimed at developing students’ skills and improving their ability to read and understand Andalusian texts.

The exam was held in the Imam Hussein Hall under the supervision of Professor Dr. Safaa Hussein Latif and Assistant Professor Dr. Israa Mahdi Shaheed. This initiative is part of the department’s plan to modernize assessment methods and encourage students to actively engage with classical texts—especially Andalusian literature, which holds significant literary and linguistic value.

Students responded positively to the new method, which allowed them to express their understanding of the texts directly while enhancing their pronunciation and literary analysis skills.
