The Religious Rituals Committee at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, held a solemn memorial gathering in honor of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), extending condolences to the noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) on this tragic occasion.

The event opened with a blessed recitation of the Holy Qur’an by student reciter Abbas Fadel. This was followed by an insightful scholarly lecture delivered by the esteemed Dr. Sheikh Hussein Abdul Ameer. In his address, he highlighted the various groundbreaking theories proposed by Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) in fields such as medicine, physics, chemistry, and more. Despite the lack of tools and technologies necessary to implement these theories in his time, the Imam’s scientific genius shone through.

Sheikh Abdul Ameer emphasized that the scientific insights attributed to Imam al-Sadiq demonstrate his exceptional intellectual prowess and pioneering spirit. These insights laid the foundation for the Islamic scientific renaissance and significantly influenced the development of modern Western civilization.

The memorial concluded with a moving elegy recited by student Haidar Tayeh, followed by a heartfelt supplication in which the attendees prayed to God to grant them the honor of commemorating Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) in the sacred cemetery of al-Baqi‘, in the presence of the awaited Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance).
