College of Islamic Sciences Hosts the 18th Round of the “Riyada” Initiative Under the Patronage of the President of the University of Karbala

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, President of the University of Karbala, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hussein Aboud Al-Taie, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, the 18th round of the “Riyada” (Entrepreneurship) Initiative in its second season was launched at the College of Islamic Sciences. The event was held in the Continuing Education Hall with the attendance of the Administrative and Financial Assistant Dean, Dr. Sadiq Abbas Rahi.

The five-day course opened with a lecture on entrepreneurship delivered by certified trainer and faculty member of the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Fundamentals, Lecturer Emad Abdul-Ridha Hameed. The first day saw broad participation from students across various colleges and scientific disciplines, within an interactive environment aimed at promoting a culture of innovation and developing students’ practical skills.

The initiative aims to empower youth to transform their creative ideas into viable entrepreneurial projects that align with market needs and contribute to society through innovative and sustainable solutions.

Dr. Sadiq Abbas Rahi praised the importance of such entrepreneurial initiatives in fostering youth potential, affirming the college’s commitment to providing a stimulating educational environment that encourages creativity and excellence both academically and professionally.

This event comes as part of the University of Karbala’s vision to support the government’s direction in building a knowledge-based society and a skill-driven economy. The “Riyada” Initiative, launched by Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, stands as one of the most prominent national programs aimed at preparing and empowering youth to enter the labor market with high efficiency.
