Thamer Al-Fartousi, a student from the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala, took part in the activities of the national Amir al-Qurra’ procession, which concluded its Qur’anic and mourning programs on the eve of Arbaeen along the route of pilgrims heading to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The procession featured solemn Qur’anic and Hussaini gatherings, attended by a wide scholarly and spiritual audience, with the participation of Qur’anic and academic figures, distinguished reciters from the project, and active engagement from the pilgrims.

The event began with a Qur’anic recitation by Qari Muhammad Ali Rashid, followed by Hussaini lamentation segments, and concluded with a mourning majlis delivered by the eulogist Hashem Al-Saedi, evoking scenes of grief on the anniversary of the return of the captives to Karbala.

Thamer Al-Fartousi’s participation reflected the commitment of students from the College of Islamic Sciences to actively engage in religious and cultural initiatives that serve the cause of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and highlight the role of youth in reviving major religious occasions.
