Professor Dr. Saeed Hameed Kazem Wanas, a critic and academic at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala, has published an important article in Al-Adib Al-Iraqi magazine, a quarterly periodical issued by the General Union of Writers and Authors in Iraq.

The article is titled “Feminist Narrative Discourse: Between the Horizons of Experimentation and the Stakes of Renewal.”

It addresses the development of Iraqi feminist novels from the mid-20th century to the present, focusing on the cultural, social, and political debates that shaped this feminist narrative discourse. It highlights literary and artistic experimentation in this field, while also examining the impact of social and political transformations, especially after 2003.

The article also sheds light on the presence of Iraqi women novelists in the literary scene—such as Lutfiya Al-Dulaimi, Aaliya Mamdouh, Batool Al-Khudairi, and Enas Atheer Ahmed—and their influence in renewing narrative discourse and opening new intellectual and aesthetic horizons.

It is noteworthy that this article is considered an important addition to the Arab and Iraqi literary library, reflecting the depth of the feminist novelistic experience and its paths toward renewal and intellectual pluralism.
