Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Abboud Al-Taie, the college held a workshop titled “Mechanisms for Promoting a Culture of Integrity and Its Role in Combating Corruption” in the Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) Hall at the college.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Khudair Mukhif Fares, a faculty member at the college, who discussed key topics related to the importance of instilling a culture of integrity within academic and administrative institutions, and its impact on reducing manifestations of administrative and financial corruption.
Dr. Khudair noted that combating corruption is not limited to legal measures but begins with building ethical and social awareness that strengthens positive values and fosters transparency and accountability.
The workshop also addressed major international and local strategies for promoting integrity and emphasized the need for collective effort among all university members to achieve a fair and transparent work environment.
At the conclusion of the workshop, an open discussion was held between the lecturer and attendees, during which various ideas and suggestions were presented to enhance the culture of integrity at both college and university levels. Participants stressed the importance of continuing such awareness activities to build a healthy academic environment based on transparency and ethical responsibility.
