The Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College of Islamic Sciences organized a scientific lecture for second-year evening-study students, delivered by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Hameed Kadhim. The lecture comes as part of the college’s efforts to develop teaching methods and activate the use of modern technologies in presenting academic materials, with the content presented through a PowerPoint display.
The lecture, titled “Al-Muhkam wa Al-Mutashabih (The Clear and the Ambiguous)”, addressed the linguistic and terminological definitions of both concepts, clarifying the fundamental differences between them. It also highlighted their significance in understanding the Qur’anic text and analyzing its meanings. The lecturer further discussed the principles that make one of the two concepts a reference for the other, supporting the explanation with scientific evidence and outlining the epistemological implications.
This activity reflects the department’s commitment to enhancing students’ academic abilities, adopting modern teaching approaches that support comprehension and application, and contributing to improving the overall quality of education within the college.
