The Journal of Contemporary Islamic Studies Issued by the College of Islamic Sciences Appears with a New Look and a Profound Scholarly Vision

Issue No. (46) of the Journal of Contemporary Islamic Studies has been released. The journal is a peer-reviewed quarterly academic publication issued by the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala, specializing in contemporary Qur’anic and exegetical research and studies.

The new issue includes (23) diverse academic papers addressing significant topics, including critiques of exegetical methodologies, analysis of Qur’anic religious discourse, the nature of doctrinal and jurisprudential conflict, as well as studies on the phenomenon of textual cohesion in certain Qur’anic expressions. This diversity reflects the depth of scholarly discussion and the variety of academic approaches adopted.

The Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Professor Dr. Saeed Hamid Kazem Wanas, stated that the Journal of Contemporary Islamic Studies has consistently sought to attract rigorous exegetical research based on objective scientific methodologies in the study of the Holy Qur’anic text. The journal publishes contributions by scholars with high academic competence and strong critical ability in discussing the views of Qur’anic exegetes, relying on careful examination of major Qur’anic and linguistic sources, supported by broad cultural knowledge that enriches their research.

He added that this issue comes with a renewed appearance in terms of both cover design and content, distinguished by an elegant print and refined artistic layout that provides a pleasing reading experience. Moreover, the published research and studies are free from linguistic and grammatical errors, as the task of proofreading was entrusted to specialists with extensive expertise in this field.

In concluding his remarks, the Editor-in-Chief emphasized that this publication represents a continuation of dedicated scholarly efforts to enrich Qur’anic studies. It also reflects the commitment of the Deanship of the College of Islamic Sciences, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al-Ta’i, to supporting academic projects that contribute to reviving Islamic heritage and highlighting contemporary studies that address intellectual challenges, alongside continued support for the Journal of Contemporary Islamic Studies.
