A Faculty Member from the College of Islamic Sciences Participates in the Updated Teaching Competency Test Committee

Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rahi Saadoun, a faculty member at the College of Islamic Sciences – University of Karbala, participated as a member of the Updated Teaching Competency Test Committee, which was held under the supervision of the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid, and with the follow-up of the Director of the Continuing Education Center, Engineer Miqdad Abdul Rahim Haidar, in the hall of the Continuing Education Center / College of Education for Pure Sciences.

The Updated Teaching Competency Test Committee at the Continuing Education Center began its work by examining a number of applicants holding postgraduate degrees in the educational specialization for the academic year 2026, aiming to qualify them for teaching in higher education institutions.

The committee consisted of:
• Prof. Dr. Haider Salman Mohsen – Chairman
• Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khairallah Shaheed – Member
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Rahi Saadoun – Member
• Prof. Dr. Ashwaq Kadhim Ubaid – Member
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Hamed Shihab Ahmed – Member
• Asst. Lecturer Huraa Hadi Kadhim – Member and Rapporteur

The test sessions included scientific presentations within the educational specializations by the applicants, interspersed with a series of evaluative questions and scientific and educational guidance provided by the committee members. These focused on several main areas, including classroom management, time management, teaching methods, feedback, as well as standards of academic competence and mastery of the subject matter.

The committee members praised the performance of several participants, emphasizing the importance of these tests in enhancing the quality of higher education and developing the capabilities of future teaching staff in accordance with approved academic standards.
