A Graduate Seminar at the College of Islamic Sciences Discusses “Thematic Interpretation from Roots to Types”

As part of the scientific activities for graduate students at the College of Islamic Sciences – University of Karbala, student Alia Hussein Ouda and student Zainab Iyad Jalil, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Mawahib Saleh Mahdi, presented a scientific seminar titled “Thematic Interpretation from Roots to Types.”

The seminar was held in the Graduate Studies Hall of the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education, attended by a number of graduate students.

The seminar addressed the concept of thematic interpretation and its historical roots in the exegetical heritage, leading to the development of its types and contemporary methodologies. It also highlighted its importance in addressing Qur’anic issues through an approach that gathers verses related to a single topic and analyzes them in an integrated manner that reveals their objectives and indications.

The session witnessed scientific discussions that enriched the topic and contributed to deepening students’ understanding of research methodologies in Qur’anic studies, thereby enhancing their academic skills and developing their research capabilities.
