The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala presented the University President, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, with a copy of the first edition of its book titled “The Martyred Sayyid H. N. (may God have mercy on him)… Written by Academics: A Reading in Giving and Martyrdom,” in appreciation of his continuous support for the scientific and intellectual activities undertaken by the college.
This book is considered the first of its kind at the Arab academic level, as it represents the first university work issued by an Arab university that addresses the life and journey of the martyred leader of the resistance, Sayyid H. N. (may God have mercy on him), within a systematic scientific research framework. The book includes studies by a select group of academics and researchers from inside and outside Iraq, which were presented during the first annual conference held by the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala in honor of the martyred leader of the resistance. The studies discussed themes of giving and martyrdom, as well as the dimensions of the leadership and intellectual experience within the resistance project.
The occasion also witnessed the presentation of a copy of the college’s journal, “Contemporary Islamic Studies,” to the University President, affirming the continuation of the scientific movement led by the college across various fields of research and Islamic and human studies.
The college deanship affirmed that these publications represent an important step in documenting contemporary issues in a solid academic language and reflect the active role of the university institution in knowledge production and in strengthening scholarly presence at the Arab level.
