The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Legal Awareness in the Workplace (The College of Islamic Sciences as a Model).” The seminar was delivered by Dr. Noor Aqeel Taher and attended by students and staff members of the college.

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of legal awareness—namely, the understanding of both employees and employers of the rights and obligations stipulated by law within the workplace. It addressed several key topics, including the protection of rights through employees’ knowledge of their entitlements, working hours, and leave policies, as well as employers’ awareness of their legal responsibilities to avoid violations and penalties.

The seminar also focused on promoting a safe work environment through adherence to occupational safety laws, reinforcing the principle of mutual respect, and avoiding fines and legal sanctions resulting from regulatory violations. It emphasized that legal awareness constitutes a culture that protects everyone and contributes to building a fair and stable work environment.

Dr. Alaa Abdul-Kadhim Jabbar, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, underscored the importance of such activities in enhancing legal knowledge among the college staff and fostering a cooperative and responsible workplace community.
