The Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College of Islamic Sciences organized a specialized scientific course on Scientific Research Methodology, with the participation of several faculty members. The course aimed to develop students’ skills and direct their research interests toward contemporary issues.
During her lecture, Dr. Mawaheb Al-Khatib emphasized the necessity of directing the students’ “research compass” toward criticizing, analyzing, and screening titles presented in the field of Islamic research, particularly in peer universities within the same specialization. She presented a set of proposed titles, including interpretive studies of the Quranic text compared to other divine books, as well as the criticism and analysis of contemporary methods in understanding the Quranic text.
For his part, Dr. Dirgham Al-Musawi proposed several titles related to contemporary studies in Imami Jurisprudence (Fiqh), with a focus on emerging issues (Al-Masa’il al-Mustahdatha). He stressed the importance of deriving new research titles that contribute to expanding the horizons of Quranic sciences by benefiting from the Imami heritage.
In the same context, Dr. Ayat Al-Sallami presented a group of research proposals in the fields of family and community jurisprudence, in addition to economic transactions, reflecting the needs of contemporary reality.
Furthermore, Dr. Zahra Mahdi reviewed several titles specialized in jurisprudential studies in light of the Holy Quran, emphasizing the importance of linking the Quranic text with modern jurisprudential applications.
This course is part of the college’s efforts to enhance the quality of scientific research and guide students toward choosing rigorous research topics that keep pace with scientific and intellectual transformations in Islamic studies.
