Dr. Mawaheb Al-Khatib, a faculty member at the College of Islamic Sciences, participated in delivering a scientific lecture as part of the monthly political forum organized by the Political Assistantship of the Al-Sadiqoun Movement in Holy Karbala. The event saw the participation of a distinguished group of academics, researchers, and those interested in political affairs.
In her lecture, Dr. Mawaheb Al-Khatib addressed the “Epistemological Model for the Transition of Civilizations and Urbanization from West to East,” considering this shift to be one of the most prominent challenges in the context of what she described as “Ideological Wars.”
She pointed out that scientific and technological empowerment serves as a fundamental tool in facing challenges, emphasizing that superiority in science and technology can contribute to achieving deterrence against aggressive forces. Furthermore, she introduced what she termed the “Shell and Pearl Model,” explaining that when a shell is exposed to a foreign body, it works to transform it into a pearl—a metaphor reflecting the possibility of turning challenges and pressures into opportunities for scientific development and advancement.
Dr. Al-Khatib stressed that the current stage requires investing in challenges to build advanced scientific and technological capabilities, alongside strengthening intellectual and ideological cohesion. This, she noted, contributes to confronting military and political challenges while achieving independence and empowerment.

The session witnessed remarkable interaction from the audience through questions and interventions that enriched the discussion and expanded the scope of the topics presented, reflecting the vitality of the dialogue on these issues.
