The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala held a memorial gathering on the occasion of the martyrdom of Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), under the slogan “Through his knowledge we are guided, and through his truthfulness we follow,” in Imam Hussein Hall (peace be upon him).

The gathering began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an delivered by the student Haider Taye’, which created a spiritual atmosphere among the attendees. This was followed by a lecture by His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Ashtar, in which he highlighted the scholarly and intellectual status of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), explaining his significant role in spreading the knowledge of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and in establishing the principles of truth and honesty within the Islamic nation.

The gathering also featured a poetry recitation by Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Al-Asadi, who spoke about the life and enduring virtues of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), evoking the values of sacrifice and knowledge that he embodied.

The aim of the gathering was to commemorate this sorrowful occasion, recall the life of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), and follow his scholarly and ethical approach, as well as to enhance religious and cultural awareness among students.

The event was hosted by Dr. Mohammed Hassoun, who managed its segments in an organized manner that reflected the importance and depth of the occasion in the hearts of those present.
