Seminar on Protecting Women's Image in the Digital Space

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, in collaboration with Al-Zahraa University for Women, organized a seminar titled “Protecting Women’s Image in the Digital Space”. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul-Kadhim Jabbar and Lecturer Dr. Ibrahim Hussein Al-Ashtar.

The seminar aimed to educate participants about women’s rights, addressing the concept of women’s dignity based on the Quranic verse “And We have certainly honored the children of Adam”. It also focused on addressing value deviations and opposing the marketing of women as mere objects, proposing the inclusion of academic curricula that emphasize digital upbringing to create a conscious generation that understands modern technology.

During the seminar, there was a strong emphasis on increasing the number of workshops and awareness seminars focusing on women’s freedom, equality, and the prevention of abuse. The importance of collaboration between media and educational institutions was highlighted to help fulfill this mission, with particular attention given to legislative protection measures.
