Students from the College of Islamic Sciences took part in a joint Quranic gathering organized by the Scientific Complex for the Holy Quran, represented by the Quranic Projects Center of the al-Abbas Holy Shrine, in cooperation with the al-Askari Holy Shrine. The event was held as part of the “National Prince of Reciters” Project and the “Imamain al-Askariyyain (peace be upon them)” Project.
The gathering began with a distinguished recitation by Isa Haq al-Atiyah, a reciter from the al-Askari Shrine, followed by a melodious recitation from Muhammad Ridha al-Zubaidi, reciter of both the Hussaini and Abbasid shrines. A deeply spiritual group recitation followed, performed by over 60 students from the Prince of Reciters Project, emulating the style of Sheikh Abdul-Fattah al-Sha’sha’i and creating a unique spiritual atmosphere in the hall.
The event also included a showcase of memorization skills presented by a select group of students from the Imamain al-Askariyyain Project. They demonstrated an exceptional ability to pinpoint the locations and page numbers of Quranic verses with remarkable accuracy—reflecting a high level of mastery and memorization. Participants were honored by the administration of the National Prince of Reciters Project in recognition of their performance.
This gathering is part of a series of joint Quranic activities aimed at unifying the efforts of the holy shrines and strengthening the ties between students and Quranic institutions, in support of the mission to spread the culture of the Holy Quran in society.
