

Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ashtar, a faculty member at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, has published a scholarly paper entitled “Individual and Collective Forgiveness: An Objective Study in the Verses of the Holy Book” in the peer-reviewed journal Al-Thakawat Al-Beedh, issued by the Center for Studies and Research at the Shiite Endowment Office.
The study examined the concept of forgiveness within the framework of thematic Qur’anic interpretation, highlighting its significance and status based on the premise that forgiveness is a Qur’anic principle affirmed by sacred texts. The researcher discussed the types and dimensions of forgiveness through an analytical and inductive approach grounded in the fields of Qur’anic exegesis and Islamic jurisprudence.
The paper was structured into three main sections, followed by a conclusion summarizing the most important findings and recommendations.
This academic achievement represents a valuable contribution from the College of Islamic Sciences to enriching the field of Qur’anic studies, while also reinforcing the University of Karbala’s position in rigorous academic research and scholarly publishing.
