The Career Development and Employment Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences Holds a Workshop on Drugs and Their Negative Effects in Islamic Law

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid, President of the University of Karbala, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Aboud Al-Ta’i, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, the Career Development and Employment Unit at the College organized a workshop entitled “Drugs and Their Negative Effects in Islamic Law”, presented by Assistant Lecturer Rusal Sahib Hussein.

The workshop addressed several key topics, including the physical, psychological, and social harms of drug abuse, as well as the Islamic legal rulings on the use and distribution of drugs, supported by Quranic verses and prophetic traditions that emphasize their prohibition.

It also discussed major preventive and therapeutic approaches to combat this dangerous phenomenon, highlighting the importance of community awareness and the role of educational and religious institutions in guiding youth about its risks.

The workshop witnessed active participation from students of the College of Islamic Sciences, who engaged with the lecture through questions and discussions, reflecting the college’s efforts to foster an informed academic environment that contributes to building a healthy, drug-free society.
