Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid, President of the University of Karbala, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al-Taie, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, the Career Development and Employment Unit organized a training workshop titled “The Role of the University Teacher in Student Awareness and Education.” The workshop was presented by Lecturer Dr. Haider Faeq Mahdi and attended by a number of the college’s students.
The workshop aimed to highlight the educational and intellectual role of the university teacher in building a well-balanced student personality—one that goes beyond the transmission of academic knowledge to include the enhancement of life skills and the development of students’ intellectual, behavioral, and cultural awareness.
It also discussed how university professors can adopt modern educational approaches that combine teaching with guidance, contributing to the preparation of a generation capable of facing scientific and societal challenges.
The workshop witnessed positive interaction from students, who emphasized the importance of such sessions in broadening their perspectives and deepening their understanding of the professor’s role in their academic and personal lives.
This workshop comes as part of a series of activities through which the College seeks to enhance student awareness and strengthen the educational relationship between professors and students, contributing to a more integrated academic environment.
