Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali Hubay al-Ruba‘i, a faculty member at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, has contributed to the scholarly editing of a recently published book titled Lisan al-Muta’allimin (The Tongue of the Learners), authored by Sayyid Musa ibn ‘Aziz Allah al-Musawi al-Jaza’iri, a prominent scholar of the 13th century AH.

The book was published by the Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him) Scholarly Complex for the Preservation of the Heritage of Ahl al-Bayt, affiliated with the holy al-Husayniyya Shrine. It was printed by Dar al-Warith Publishing and Printing House in 2024, as part of a series dedicated to reviving the scholarly heritage of Islam.

Lisan al-Muta’allimin is a commentary on the grammatical treatise al-‘Awamil by Mulla Muhsin ibn Muhammad Tahir al-Qazwini (d. 1150 AH). The publication is divided into two main parts: the first is a study that explores the life of the author and provides an analytical overview of the content, while the second part includes a description of the manuscript copies, the methodology of textual editing, the verified text itself, and concludes with detailed indexes that enhance the book’s utility for researchers and scholars.

This academic achievement represents a valuable contribution to the heritage library and underscores the ongoing efforts of faculty members at the College of Islamic Sciences in preserving Islamic scholarly heritage and editing significant manuscripts from flourishing periods of Islamic scholarship.
