The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Islamic Sciences Holds a Meeting to Discuss Academic Accreditation and Develop Scientific Pathways

The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, held a meeting chaired by Prof. Dr. Hazem Fadel Al-Barz, Head of the Department, with the attendance of the Accreditation Committee members: Prof. Dr. Bushra Hanoon, Asst. Prof. Dr. Fa’iza Tha’ban, and Dr. Khudair Mukhayf, in addition to the department’s faculty members.

The meeting addressed four main axes. The first axis focused on the requirements for obtaining academic accreditation and the essential prerequisites for achieving programmatic accreditation within the department.
The second axis emphasized the scientific research file, encouraging faculty members to publish in international indexed journals alongside local publications.

The third axis discussed undergraduate studies and ways to develop them, stressing the importance of supporting academic and extracurricular activities to create an integrated educational environment, as well as promoting a culture of volunteerism among students under the supervision of the department’s faculty.

The fourth and final axis was dedicated to postgraduate studies, highlighting the importance of enhancing the rigor of research projects for the master’s and doctoral levels, and working on updating curricula in a way that contributes to raising the scientific level of students.

This meeting comes as part of the department’s continuous efforts to advance academic performance and achieve the highest standards of quality in education and scientific research.
