The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala Holds Its First Annual Festival Commemorating the Birth Anniversary of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra (Peace Be Upon Her) and the Great Victory Day

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Aboud Al-Taie, the Media and Government Communication Division of the College, in cooperation with the Islamic Rituals Committee, held its first annual festival to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and the Great Victory Day. The event took place at Imam Hussein Hall (peace be upon him).

The festival program included several segments, beginning with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the Iraqi national anthem and a standing recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the souls of the righteous martyrs.
The Dean of the College then delivered a speech on the occasion, highlighting the lofty values embodied by Sayyida al-Zahra (peace be upon her), evoking meanings of sacrifice and patience, and emphasizing the importance of remembering the heroism of the martyrs and their role in achieving victory and safeguarding the homeland.

The festival also featured the screening of a documentary video on the battles and sacrifices of the Popular Mobilization Forces, followed by a speech delivered by Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim, a faculty member at the College, who stressed the significance of commemorating such occasions for the faith-based and national meanings they carry, which strengthen students’ sense of belonging and awareness.
In addition, a special video about Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), produced by the College’s Media and Government Communication Division, was presented, along with a poetic recitation by Professor Dr. Amjad Al-Fadhil, delivered on his behalf by the festival host, Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Abdul-Tibi.

The festival aimed to enhance religious and national awareness, consolidate moral and human values, commemorate the great sacrifices offered by the martyrs, and connect generations with the biography of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

The event concluded in an atmosphere imbued with faith and patriotism, reflecting the success of the festival in achieving its objectives, amid praise from attendees for the quality of organization and the importance of holding such cultural and religious activities.
