Faculty Member from the College of Islamic Sciences Participates in the Second Meeting of the Committee for Including the Iraqi Cultural Identity Course

Professor Dr. Dirgham Karim Al-Mousawi, a faculty member at the College of Islamic Sciences, participated in the work of the committee tasked with following up on the inclusion of the course “Iraqi Cultural Identity” within the academic curriculum for students of the Study in Iraq initiative, during its second meeting.

This meeting was held in accordance with the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and with the support and follow-up of the President of the University of Karbala, as part of ongoing efforts to develop academic curricula and include content that reflects Iraq’s national and cultural identity. This aims to enhance international students’ knowledge of Iraq’s history and civilization and highlight its deep cultural and humanitarian heritage.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Hadi Al-Saidi, Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, during which the proposed course themes, teaching mechanisms, and educational objectives were discussed in a manner consistent with the needs of international students and reflective of Iraq’s bright civilizational image throughout its long history.

The committee members, including Professor Dr. Dirgham Karim Al-Mousawi, emphasized the importance of adopting this course due to its effective role in introducing students to Iraqi culture and heritage, enhancing cultural understanding and academic openness, and supporting the scientific and humanitarian goals of the Study in Iraq initiative.
