The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala has commenced the sessions of its Second International Scientific Conference, held in cooperation with the Martyr Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr Foundation, under the title:
“The Integrated Islamic System for Building and Reforming Society According to the Contemporary Perspective – Solutions and Approaches,”
and the slogan:
“The Approach of Martyr Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (May He Be Sanctified) and Its Impact on the Intellectual and Jihadi Movement.”
The conference sessions witnessed the participation of more than ninety academic papers presented by researchers from inside and outside Iraq. These papers covered a wide range of themes, including intellectual, usuli (principles of jurisprudence), jurisprudential, linguistic, educational, and historical studies. All contributions drew inspiration from the thought of Martyr Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (May His Noble Secret Be Sanctified) and sought to highlight his presence and influence in addressing issues of contemporary society.
The main themes of the conference were distributed across six academic tracks, presented over six research sessions held in the halls of the College of Islamic Sciences, with broad scholarly participation from researchers and academics from within Iraq and abroad.
The conference aims to deepen scholarly research into the thought of Martyr Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (May He Be Sanctified) and to demonstrate its capacity to contribute to building and reforming society according to a contemporary Islamic vision, thereby reinforcing the role of universities in serving intellectual life and scientific research.
