
The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, held a scientific symposium titled “Women and E-Governance,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Bashair Sabah Mahdi, the unit’s liaison officer.
The symposium highlighted the concept of e-governance and its importance in governmental institutions, as well as the role of technology in enhancing job performance for both genders. It focused particularly on empowering women and encouraging their engagement in this vital field, due to its significant economic and societal impacts.
The presenter also discussed ways to enhance women’s digital skills and emphasized the importance of their participation in decision-making—especially in modern governance systems. She further stressed the need to create a work environment that fosters creativity and collaboration among women.
The symposium concluded with several key recommendations, including:
